CAMP BANKSIA

Camp Banksia provides you with three accommodation options for your next group booking. On site is an indoor dining hall, plus an outdoor covered dining area attached to our brand new Camp Kitchen for self-catering.

Sassafras Hub

Comfortable accommodation for up to 38-people, including a separate room for supervising adults.

Camp Banksia supplies the bunks and mattresses, BYO linen and bedding is required.

Myrtle Hub

Comfortable accommodation for up to 38-people, including a separate room for supervising adults.

Camp Banksia supplies the bunks and mattresses, BYO linen and bedding is required.

Blackwood Cabins

One clusters of 5 cabins makes up the original bunk style accommodation at Camp Banksia. 

Blackwood Cabins can sleep up to 30 people.

These cabins have a separate bathroom block, including and accessibility bathroom.

The cabins have mattresses only, so BYO bedding and linen. All cabins are heated with electric panel heaters

Facilities

The Dining Hall is predominately used for camp dining but can also be utilised for anything your group requires. A large room with timber floors and wood heating, the hall can seat up to 180 people in conference style. Table and chairs are provided along with two kitchenettes, two small fridges, a large smart TV together with a DVD player and an amplifier.

For camps choosing to self-cater we offer a separate kitchen facility which contains two gas electric ovens with hot plates, two standard fridge/freezers and basic cooking equipment.

The kitchen area has a large covered outdoor area for groups to gather and dine.

Camp Banksia Insurance

Camp Banksia is owned and managed by Latrobe Council – www.latrobe.tas.gov.au

Camp Banksia is covered for Public and Products Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance under Latrobe Council policies and they are as follows:

  • Public /Liability – $500,000,000
  • Professional Indemnity – $500,000,000

All policies expire on June 30 each year.

Compliance

Fire and Evacuation

  • All staff are fire and evacuation trained through Tas Fire Service
  • Camp Banksia follows Critical Incident policies and procedures
  • 6 monthly inspection conducted on all fire equipment and emergency lighting (TAS Fire)
  • 12 monthly flow testing of all fire hydrants (TAS Fire)
  • Evacuation policies and procedures approved by Tas Fire Service
  • Evacuation procedures explained to each group as part of their welcome address
